OESA and AIAG teamed with BearingPoint’s Automotive Practice, the European Association of Automotive Suppliers (CLEPA) and Warranty Week magazine to capture insight from OEM and supplier executives on the global state of warranty management. The results of this landmark survey will be presented at a joint OESA-AIAG breakfast briefing, “Winning Through Collaboration: OEMs and Suppliers Join Forces to Address Warranty,” on March 19, 2008, at the MSU Management Education Center, Troy, Mich. Now, more than ever, warranty management has a direct impact on the profitability of an OEM, its dealer network, suppliers and other supply chain partners. Via this online survey, the team sought to discover how OEMs and suppliers at all tiers and geographies perceive the warranty challenge. The survey also asked respondents for solutions they are using or investigating to improve warranty programs, reduce costs and enhance consumer satisfaction. Input received from OEMs and suppliers is already stimulating new discussion about how supply chain partners can expand their working relationships. The breakfast briefing is developed for executives at OEMs and suppliers with responsibility for warranty. Attendees will receive a copy of the survey report and have the opportunity to interface with report authors and executive reviewers from OESA and AIAG member companies. Bob Baxendale, senior manager, automotive, BearingPoint, Inc., will review the report and present key survey results. Executive reviewers from OESA and AIAG members companies will present their points of view and participate in a panel discussion. Joining Baxendale on the panel: - Dave Mimms, General Manager, Product Quality Assurance, Toyota Motor Engineering & Manufacturing N.A., Inc.
- Mike Roberts, Warranty Strategy Manager, Ford Motor Company
- Daniel E. Paterra, Vice President, Manufacturing & Quality, BorgWarner, Inc.
- Dave Sakata, Vice President, Technology, Freudenberg-NOK General Partnership
